for the first time,no asian was able to make it to the top 15 in the recently concluded miss universe  2009 in bahamas but got the two minor awards:miss photogenic for  thailand and miss congeniality    for china.

for the two consecutive years,venezuela captured the miss universe crown.it's actually thier 6th miss universe title.USA which has 7 miss universe titles did not make it to the top 5.puerto rico , in 4th place has 5 miss universe winners.in fairness,philippines has 2 miss universe title holders and 7 runners -up which made it to the number 7 rank in most numbers of miss universe winners.australia only comes in rank 8 with 2 miss universe titles and 5 runners- up.dominican republic has  one miss universe winner in 2003.kozobo in 3rd place is a surprise.

in my previous post about my forecast of the   top 15,8 of them made it...quite ok!i was just dismayed that miss indonesia did not make it to the top 15 .i was also hopeful that miss philippines will be the miss photogenic .i did not expect miss kozobo to be in the top 5.oh, where's miss usa in the top 5?whats wrong with her?i really love miss australia to win.she was the only one who answered the question without an interpreter and she was smart and scored the highest in swimsuit.no doubt miss venezuela is queenly but i think it's not easy for her to perform her duty as miss universe if she doesnt speak english well.
